Cappuvino, Lancaster
We were approached by a new bar and restaurant in Lancaster City centre when they were in the beginning phases of converting the existing space. The owners said they were going for a European themed, coffee and wine bar with a trendy vibe and they needed some inspiration for their Ladies and Gent facilities and bar area. The client specified grey tiles but wanted it to work with some metallic effect materials they already had in place and the two colours needed to work alongside each other.
The Ladies and Gents both feature the same tile collection, ‘Nickon Chrome’, in both the plain and textured designs. The textured décor tile in 60x120cm makes for an eye-catching feature wall in the cubicles and the plain tile sits next to the metallic features beautifully. It bears an on-trend, chevron design which looks really sleek and contemporary, ensuring the facilities look smart for years to come. The veining in the Nickon Chrome 60x60cm compliments that of the basin unit in an inversed manner and ties the whole design up really well.
The bar area features a slim, rectangular gloss tile collection called ‘Pasedena’ in the ‘Moonlight’ colourway. These tiles are a modern take on the traditional Metro tile sizing, being slightly narrower and longer at 7.5x30cm. They have a variety of random patterns engraved into them before glazing that reflect the light as it catches. There’s roughly about 8 different designs within each colour scheme and the edges of the tiles look slightly hand made so look really effective when grouted.
