Creating a safe bathroom, St Helens

Mr and Mrs Carney were in need of a bathroom revamp. Due to their age, it was becoming increasingly difficult to get in and out of their bath and family wanted them to have a safer set up. After much discussion, they finally agreed to an entire bathroom overhaul complete with walk in shower, hand rails and a seat to ensure their wellbeing whilst showering.

Their original bathroom suite had been in for many years and they had painted the tiles in a brighter colour to add a bit of character but this was all to be removed and replaced by a much warmer and contemporary theme. Mrs Carney stated that she wished to have a small, warm tile with a stone effect finish so we collated some samples for her to look at and make a choice. In the end they chose Windsor Ivory, a 25x50cm wall tile with soft, beige tones and a wood effect vinyl floor.

The entire bathroom was tiled from floor to ceiling which was a massive difference from the minimal areas that were tiled before. All pipe work was now boxed in which makes for a much tidier finish too. The walk in shower that replaced the bath is spacious and light thanks to the neutral tones of Windsor Ivory and the furniture chosen for the room compliments it wonderfully. Finally, it is all tied together with the warm, wood effect flooring which add to this welcoming and tranquil space for Mr and Mrs Carney to enjoy. What was once a dated and impractical bathroom, is now a spa like haven for the pair of them, and most importantly it is much safer for them too.
