Minimal Makeover, Slyne
We are so thrilled with the finished product with this customer bathroom refurb. The bathroom was outdated and in need of a face lift, those 1980’s border tiles had to go! The customer came to us with a clear idea of what they wanted to achieve and we knew right away the look and style they were after. They were keen to work in a sage green colour palette and intended on painting the walls green above the tiles. With this in mind we initially looked at floor tiles that incorporated green and the customer selected FS Star by Peronda in the green colour way – this then worked hand in hand with the green of the walls. They also used this tile to create a feature niche in the wall above the toilet which added a nice focal point in the room.
To get a contrast against the green walls we suggested a light, bright tile for the walls that were being half tiled. By going with an off white tile they were able to continue the lighter elements from the floor tile up onto the wall, tying it all together nicely. The walls are half tiled in Himilaya White, a 30x60cm slightly textured, off white tile and finished off with a black trim.
The customer selected a black framed shower enclosure and black taps and fixtures too along with a Scandi type influence similar to that we talked about in our Japandi article. They used wood effect furniture and kept the space very minimal which has created a relaxing space to unwind. The shower walls are tiled in Docklands White, a smaller 7.5x30cm tile with a very similar colour and texture to that of the larger wall tiles so this space flows really effectively.
All work was completed by Mike Friend Plumbing, Heating & Bathrooms.
Whilst they were selecting bathroom tiles, they also decided on some vinyl flooring for their kitchen which has now been fitted and looks fantastic. We think you’ll all agree that they’ve successfully made this home a beautiful place to live!
